Martensitic Steels Description

The microstructure of martensitic steel (MS-MartensiticSteel) is almost entirely martensite. It is mainly transformed into lath martensite structure through rapid quenching of high-temperature austenite structure, which can be achieved by hot rolling and cold rolling. Martensitic steel has high tensile strength, and its maximum strength can reach 1600MPa.

The high strength of martensite is due to high density of dislocations, fine twins, segregation of carbon, and interstitial solid solution of the square degree of martensite.
