What Is Deep drawing steel

Deep drawing steel is a cold-rolled steel sheet specially used for deep drawing processing. It has excellent plasticity, strength and ductility, and can withstand large deformation without cracking. Deep drawing steel is widely used in many fields such as automobiles, home appliances, aerospace, etc., and is one of the important industrial materials.

What Is Deep Drawing Steel

1. Steelmaking

Raw material preparation

Raw materials such as iron ore, coke and limestone are proportioned and pre-treated to ensure the quality and purity of the raw materials.
Blast furnace smelting

The prepared raw materials are put into the blast furnace and smelted at high temperature to reduce the iron in the iron ore into pig iron.
Converter refining

Pig iron is refined in a converter or electric furnace to remove impurities, and alloy elements are added according to different needs to obtain molten steel.

2. Continuous casting

Molten steel pouring

Molten steel is poured into a crystallizer, cooled and solidified to obtain a steel billet.
Cutting to length

The steel billet is cut into the required length and surface treated.

3. Hot rolling

Heating

The steel billet is heated to a certain temperature, usually between 1100-1250℃, to improve the plasticity of the steel billet.
Rolling

The heated steel billet is rolled in a rolling mill to gradually reduce the thickness of the steel billet and increase the width to obtain a hot-rolled steel plate.
Cooling

Cool the hot-rolled steel plate to control the structure and properties of the steel plate.

4. Cold rolling

Pickling

Pickle the hot-rolled steel plate to remove the oxide scale and impurities on the surface.
Annealing

Anneal the pickled steel plate to improve the structure and properties of the steel plate and improve its plasticity and ductility.
Cold rolling

Roll the annealed steel plate in a cold rolling mill to further reduce the thickness of the steel plate and improve the surface finish to obtain a cold-rolled steel plate.

5. Surface treatment

Galvanizing

A layer of zinc is plated on the cold-rolled steel plate to improve its corrosion resistance.
Aluminum plating

A layer of aluminum is plated on the cold-rolled steel plate to improve its corrosion resistance and aesthetics.
Painting

A layer of paint is applied to the cold-rolled steel plate to improve its corrosion resistance and aesthetics.

6. Finished product inspection

Appearance inspection

Check whether the surface of the steel plate has defects, such as scratches, pitting, inclusions, etc.
Dimension measurement

Measure the thickness, width, length and other dimensions of the steel plate to ensure that they meet the relevant standards.
Mechanical properties test

Test the tensile strength, yield strength, elongation and other mechanical properties of the steel plate to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
Chemical composition analysis

Analyze the chemical composition of the steel plate to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
